[CLICK "SHOW MORE" FOR INSTRUCTIONS] I’m disappointed that most people aren’t reading important information that I’ve written down- they keep asking things (like how to flip the grid) which I’ve answered in the video, here in the description AND in the linked videos. Sure, maybe I could have done this bracelet horizontal from the get-go but I really wanted you guys to understand that letters can be done from BOTH angles. EVERYONE has a post of the ‘normal’ horizontal patterns and I wanted to show you all that it can be done this way as well- either way is fine! Remember, these aren’t “letters” so much as they are pictures. You just need to follow the grid. It’s VERY LITERAL and there is no “magic” or deceit involved. If you see 10 boxes across then you have 10 base strings. If you want to flip the grid and it has 12 boxes well then you have 12 base strings. 1 box = 1 string 10 boxes = 10 strings Number of Boxes = Number of Strings + one string for the foreground/weaving string. ? LENGTHS- The strings should be about 35 inches for the base strings (65 if you’re folding the base strings in half) and the knotting thread should be as long as possible- Whatever length that you can work with without it being “too long” is fine because it is likely that you will need to add in more strings. ____________________________________________ ? ? ? ? ? i understand how to make the letters so they are stacked if you are making a word. but how do you make the letters go the other way so when you wear the bracelet the word is with your wrist?
@candygirl2014ily Well, yesterday there were severe storms nearly all day so I pretty much unplugged my computer and had to wait it out… new computer + electric surge = not kosher lol.
I guess I can try to do it right now… there are more storms coming so I better get a jump on it.
@BeyondBracelets Wow! That is such a great idea…I was just about to use graph paper but I like this idea SO much better Wish me luck on my first name bracelet!
P.S: You are so wonderful at explaining things! I’m 14 and I just started making bracelets about a month ago. Your videos have helped me to mature in my bracelet-making Also, your Dum-Dum bracelet I have made, but it was always so flimsy and I never thought of using glaze to make it firm…the clasp idea is a plus!
Thnx a lot!
@hannabanana121000 Try using a cardboard loom to keep the bracelet steady as you knot. Just YT search for “cardboard friendship bracelet loom” and try to use that. It sounds like you might be pulling too tightly… but I don’t know for sure without seeing what you are doing.
@candygirl2014ily Hm… I think I can manage a video drawing it out. Making the letters are the same method regardless of the letter but actually drawing them out is something I haven’t taught yet. I think maybe I’ll try doing that today since it should be a fairly simple lesson.
@T3hR3dQu33n You can do it on graph paper.. or make your own grid. Either way is fine. It just depends on the size of your graph paper. It’s much easier to work on a larger grids and follow along with a bigger picture.
Also keep in mind you could find a grid on Google images and open it in a paint program and use your fill tool. You could easily just have a folder and save all of the patterns you make and you won’t waste an ounce of ink or sheet of paper to do it.
Thanks for posting this, it’s actually easier to understand then the paper explanation. Can you map out your pattern on graph paper or is it easier to draw your own grid? Just wondering, thanks.
I was wondering if you could make a video, where you showed how to do the other letters of the alphabet. Like, not making the bracelet, but how you drew the G out. Could you draw out the other letters of the alpha bet? I can’t figure out how to do the other letters.
@MissSopeSter I have a video on the four types of knots… just type “Beyondbracelets four types of knots” in the YT search bar. As for making letters… I guess I could show how to make alpha patterns. I have a video on how to read them but I didn’t really consider making a video on making them… so yeah. I’ll try to do a video on how to make them.
you did SUCH a good job explaining!!!!!!!! i loved this video i have been making braclets for at least a year and always wondered if i could write letters……i knew i could but i just didnt no howw!!!!!!! thanks alot!!!!! BTW U MAKE GOOD VIDEOS

@BeyondBracelets when do you think you’ll have time to make a video showing how to draw out the letters?
@katehorses18 The craft store should have an entire section dedicated to embroidery/strings. It’s six stranded embroidery floss.
where do u by it from the stuff u make it with?

I can’t knot it.

My first letter is an H and I can’t make it.
